In the middle of Covid time, Leah and Polo said yes to each other on September 18, 2020. They legally got married in Amsterdam, while they are waiting for their big celebration in St Martin in 2022. Together with their two witnesses and closest friends, they celebrated their legal day, with a boat tour through the canals of Amsterdam, and a dinner at Restaurant de Kas, a former greenhouse dating from 1926. The restaurant is located in the beautiful Park Frankendael on the outskirts of Amsterdam and has its own greenhouse and garden. Leah asked me to do a wedding shoot here before dinner to celebrate and document this special day.

We met each other around sunset on a beautiful summer day. The surroundings of Restaurant de Kas and Park Frankendael were perfect for taking pictures and was extra meaningful for Leah and Polo. There was so much love between these two, I didn’t have to say much to pose them. They were so positive and gave me all their trust, such kind people. How lucky I am with clients like this. It was a beautiful evening and I think the pictures say it all.

In het midden van corona zeiden Leah en Polo op 18 september 2020 ja tegen elkaar. Ze trouwden voor de wet in Amsterdam, terwijl ze wachten tot ze het groots mogen vieren in Sint Maarten in 2022. Samen met hun twee getuigen en enkele vrienden vierden ze het vandaag klein, met een boottour door de grachten van Amsterdam, en een diner bij Restaurant de Kas, een voormalige Amsterdamse Stadskwekerij uit 1926. Het restaurant bevindt zich in het mooie Park Frankendael en heeft een eigen kweekkas en een tuin. Leah vroeg mij om voorafgaand aan het diner een wedding shoot te doen, om deze bijzondere dag te vieren en vast te leggen. 

We spraken af voor zonsondergang op een mooie zomerse dag. De omgeving van Restaurant de Kas en Park Frankendael was perfect voor het maken van foto’s en extra bijzonder voor Leah en Polo. Wat een liefde was er tussen deze twee, ik hoefde weinig te zeggen. Ze waren zo enthousiast en gaven mij al hun vertrouwen, zulke liefde warme mensen. Wat bof ik toch met zulke leuke klanten. Het was een prachtige avond en ik denk dat de foto’s alles zeggen!
