Laura and Ewoud celebrated their beautiful wedding at the elegant Kasteel de Wittenburg in Wassenaar, a charming estate surrounded by nature. It was the perfect backdrop for their special day.
Laura and Ewoud chose to host their entire wedding at one location, including the preparations. I started by photographing all the beautiful details that Laura had already set out for me, and I was able to use some loose flowers from Beyond Blossom for the flat lays. The beautiful invitations were handmade by the bride, featuring illustrations from La Lettre. It was a joy for me to capture all of these lovely details. Because Laura and Ewoud were both at the same location, it was easy for me to capture both of their getting-ready moments in the beautiful spaces of Kasteel de Wittenburg.
The photoshoot took place before the ceremony, before any guests arrived. This allowed Laura and Ewoud to enjoy a quiet and intimate moment together, before the day truly began. An additional advantage of a morning shoot is that the light is often soft and flattering, and hair and makeup are still perfect. The surroundings of Kasteel de Wittenburg are perfect for romantic bridal portraits.
Laura and Ewoud exchanged vows in the garden of Kasteel de Wittenburg, surrounded by their friends and family. The setting was beautifully styled by Beyond Blossom. We had wonderful summer weather, and the atmosphere was relaxed and full of love and joy. After the ceremony, guests toasted in the garden while heartwarming speeches were given and cake was served. Before the dinner began, I went to photograph the beautiful table setting.
After dinner, we sneaked out for a short photo session. I always recommend that couples plan a moment for a golden hour shoot at the end of the day. The light is often magical, and the couple is usually much more relaxed. It’s also a great way to enjoy a quiet moment together before the party starts. It’s during these moments that I often capture the purest and most dreamy images.
Although it was a bit cloudy this time, it still created a beautiful moment for intimate photos.
Then came the first dance in the place where the celebration continued at Kasteel de Wittenburg, and it was time for me to say goodbye and head home.
I truly enjoyed capturing this day, spending time with this sweet and laid-back couple, connecting with their guests, and experiencing the wonderful surroundings of Kasteel de Wittenburg.
